Young athletes receive athletic development, competition, fun, and the opportunity to build relationships. Participants benefit from quality coaches in a safe environment, and develop the necessary skills to succeed on and off the field.
At Johnson Ferry Baptist Church location, Upward Sports offers the following youth sports programs.

Upwards Sports offers special needs programs as well as adult sports and fitness programs.
JFBC has homeschool hybrid classes, pre-school, K-12 private school and School of Ministry & Missions.
Pre-School Classes Offered:
Enroll your child in Wee School for the highest standards in early childhood education with a Christian environment of love and support for teaching the “whole child”. The spiritual, social, emotional, physical and intellectual well-being of each child should be encouraged and balanced. Children participate in a variety of opportunities to socialize, investigate, play and express themselves independently as well as cooperatively in small groups.
2’s, 3’s, 4’s and Young 5’s
Homeschool students experience enrichment classes designed to develop young servants in the spirit of the apostle Paul. Grades K-12 available.
JF Christian Academy:
A flexible, accredited college style school with courses designed to meet students where they are and challenge them to reach their potential with small class sizes. JFCA develops critical thinkers with the capacity to engage the world. K-12 grades available.
School of Ministry and Missions:
Be part of the next generation of ministers and missionaries fulfilling your mission in life with Christ-centered vision, experience and perspective.
Resident ministers spend 11 months in a large, healthy church environment while receiving instruction in seven foundational aspects for long term success.

East Cobber Festival:
A hometown tradition for the past 24 years, this special event aims to build a sense of community and reinforce East Cobb’s status as one of the best places to live in the Atlanta area by giving thanks and special tribute to those who contribute to the quality of life in East Cobb such as principals, schools, clubs, elected officials, and civic leaders.
Since 1995, the EAST COBBER Parade & Festival:
- Spotlights the people who contribute to the quality of life in East Cobb County.
- Provides opportunities for various groups of the community to interact.
- Boosts the image of East Cobb to external audiences as well as to help East Cobb residents feel good about living in East Cobb.
- Celebrates the arts by providing a showcase for local fine arts performers and groups at the Festival.
- Promotes economic development by providing local businesses with an event that demonstrates their community support and allows company personnel to interact with prospects and customers.
The EAST COBBER Parade & Festival is 100% funded through event fees and sponsorships, working together to sustain this local tradition in East Cobb County. We welcome your participation in making this year’s parade another fun and successful community event.
Father Daughter Dance:
The annual Father-Daughter Dance is an amazing evening for dads and daughters full of fun, dancing and love. Available tickets are sold through January 31 and the event is held close to Valentine’s Day each year. The event includes dinner and dancing with a live band.
Taste of East Cobb:
Known as “the most delicious Saturday of the year,” the Taste of East Cobb event will be held on May 4th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. The Taste of East Cobb is a way of bringing people of all ages together to celebrate our vibrant community.
Taste of East Cobb showcases the best of East Cobb’s local restaurant talent with chefs offering a delicious variety of tastings from their menus. All
restaurant featured ‘tastes’ will be offered. Come for the food — stay for the fun. Event goers can discover unique products from local vendors as well as participate in a silent auction with a lot of unique opportunities for great deals on valuable items. Local high school jazz bands will provide music throughout the day — come hear some of the best emerging music talent from local neighborhoods. The kid zone features inflatables and hands-on activities. Also, Taste of East Cobb welcomed Atlanta United to the event.
